Organizations and teams
Invite your team, choose what each person can change, and manage applications, environments and tokens.
Roles#
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Member | See all of the organization's data, and work on issues: status, priority, assignee, comments. |
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus invite and remove members, and create, change and delete applications, environments, thresholds, webhooks and issue settings. |
| Owner | Everything an admin can, plus change the plan and billing, and delete the organization. |
Admins can't change or remove owners, and can't make anyone an owner. An organization always keeps at least one owner. To step down or leave as the only owner, make someone else an owner first.
Invite people#
Admins and owners invite people from the organization's settings, with the role they'll get. Only owners can invite owners.
The invitation email has a link that expires after 7 days. The person signs in, or signs up, with the email address the invite was sent to. Pending invites can be resent, which restarts the 7 days, or revoked. Admins can also copy an invite's link to send it themselves.
To remove someone, choose Remove member. Anyone can Leave organization.
Several organizations#
You can belong to several organizations, such as your company's and a client's. The menu at the top of the sidebar lists every organization's applications and environments. New organization creates one that you own.
Applications#
Admins create applications from New application in that menu. Each application starts with one environment, Production by default.
An application's settings have these tabs:
- General: rename or delete the application. Deleting it removes its environments, issues, thresholds and webhooks, and rejects events sent with its tokens.
- Environments: add and change environments.
- Thresholds: see Alerts and thresholds.
- Issues: webhooks for the application. See Webhooks.
Environments#
Each environment has a name, a color for telling it apart in the sidebar, an optional URL, and an optional silence alert. Its row shows when the last event arrived.
- Setup instructions shows the commands to connect an app, with the token filled in.
- Regenerate token issues a new token. The old one stops working right away, so update
NIGHTWATCH_TOKENorRACCOON_TOKENwhere the app runs. - Delete removes the environment. An app still sending with its token gets rejected. In a Laravel app, set
NIGHTWATCH_ENABLED=falseto stop it from trying.
The browser key (rcb_...) on the same page is for browser monitoring. It can only send page views and errors.
API tokens#
API tokens let AI agents read your data through the MCP server. Create them under Settings → Profile → API tokens. A token sees the same organizations you do. It's read-only unless you turn on Write access, which lets an agent resolve, ignore and comment on issues.
Raccoon shows a new token once. Revoking a token cuts off agents using it immediately.
